About The Course

Money is the lifeblood of any business. However, very few people know how to manage the finances of a business well, especially when they start out as an entrepreneur or are evaluating a startup idea. This can be attributed to the fact that we are not taught this important life skill of managing finances early in life. A strong understanding of financial matters aids the holistic development of a child and is key for students who are looking to succeed in the emerging gig economy. Financial know-how is also an absolute must for students considering entrepreneurship as a future career option.This course will take you through the journey of a startup from the conception of an idea to the growth of the business and will help you understand some important concepts of finance. You will also learn the art and science of managing money in a startup and how to raise money from initial investors.

This course is designed for students aged 13–18 to have a strong understanding of financial aspects, which will benefit them in all areas of their lives and set them on the path of building their own future as entrepreneurs.

Sanjeeva Shivesh is a Serial Entrepreneur, the Founder of The Entrepreneurship School and Co-Founder and Program Director at ThinkStartup. Sanjeeva has served as a civil servant with the Government of India. Subsequently, he worked as Strategy Consultant with Booz & Co. at their London Office. His passion lies in teaching Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Design Thinking. He has been Adjunct Professor at MDI Gurgaon, FMS and TERI University, besides teaching at Singapore Management University, IIM Rohtak, IIM Kashipur and IIT Delhi. He is an active panellist on economic affairs and policies on CNN News, India Today TV, Doordarshan and AIR. Sanjeeva is a B. Tech from IIT, Delhi and an MBA from the Cranfield School of Management, U.K.
