The amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions generated by all the activities of a person or entity is known as their carbon footprint. It is a concept that grew out of the older concept of ecological footprint from the early 1990s. India is the wold's third biggest carbon emitter after China and the USA. The outcome of several decades of carbon emissions has done incredible damage to nature and our environment. It is crucial to take steps to curb our carbon footprint at the individual as well as organisational level. This can be achieved by improving energy efficiency as well as changing lifestyles and purchasing habits.
