An US scientific agency named National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) declared this year’s July as the hottest month in the world in last 142 years; and has warned of the impending climate crisis. According to the records, since 2015, the temperatures of July had only gone up with each passing year. July 2021 was warmer by 0.53°C surpassing the 20th century average of 15.7°C. 1976 was the last time July was cooler than this average.
A climate scientist at the Breakthrough Institute has blamed this rise in temperature on humans and their negligent acts like that of carbon emissions. Everything from the record-breaking heatwaves across the world to upsurge of wildfires, are result of this drastic climate change. A recent report released by the IPCC has sent shock waves around the community of climate activists that said that by 2030, the world will cross 1.5°C of warming. About 1.1°C of warming has been recorded so far in 2021 alone. Some of the severe consequences of this growing global warming are, asphalt melting heat in Canada, rainstorms in China and Germany and uncontrollable wildfires across Greece and California.
