The original name wasn’t Dunkin Donuts
The Dunkin’ story started in 1948 when American entrepreneur William Rosenburg opened his first coffee and doughnut shop in Massachusetts. Though initially it was called ‘Open Kettle’, Rosenburg changed it to Dunkin’ Donuts in 1950. In seven decades, Dunkin’ has grown tremendously. Interestingly, the original store in Quincy still stands today! In fact, in 2011, the look and feel of this place was restored to its retro design.
