Every year an All-India Hotel Management entrance exam, also called NCHMCT JEE is held by the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology in collaboration with the conducting body National Testing Agency (NTA). This year, this national level entrance exam was conducted on 10th August 2021. The counselling registration for the qualified candidates started on 14th September, a day after the declaration of results. NCHMCT JEE 2022’s application process will tentatively begin in February next year. Here are all the necessary details for next year’s interested candidates who wish to make a career (earn a B.Sc. degree in Hotel and Hospitality Administration) in hospitality management.

Exam pattern
NCHMCT JEE usually has 200 multiple choice questions. The question paper has five sections namely: Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude (tests till class XII mathematics prowess), Reasoning and Logical Deduction (tests cognitive skills), Current Affairs and General Knowledge, English Language (tests basic grammar and communication skills) and Service Sector Aptitude (tests knowledge about the hospitality sector).
Marking Scheme
The first 3 sections are of 30 marks each, while English has 60 marks and the last section has 50 marks, taking the total to 200. 1 mark will be awarded to each correct answer, while every wrong answer will be penalized with 0.5 mark deduction. No mark will be deducted if a question is unanswered.
Mode and duration
Candidates can choose to both online or offline modes, in their respective exam centres. The offline mode, i.e., the pen and paper mode happen through the use of OMR sheets. Candidates can choose to answer their paper in either Hindi or English. The duration of this entrance test is 3 hours.
