This test is for those individuals who wish to get a degree in engineering and then serve the Indian Army as a Technical Officer. The Indian Army partner up with the Grant of Permanent Commission to carry out this exam. The selection solely depends on the vacancy.
After the 4+1 (final year is field training) year degree in this engineering course is successfully finished, the candidates will be given permanent employment opportunities in the Indian Army starting with the rank of Lieutenant directly. Here’s everything else you need to know about this entrance exam.
Eligibility Criteria
Selection Procedure
The selection procedure for the TES entrance exam is quite different from other entrance exams. After successful submission of the application form, candidates will be shortlisted by the Recruiting Directorate after careful judgement of all the criteria and clearance of that year’s cut off percentage. Shortlisted candidates will thereafter be informed via SMS and emails by the Services Selection Board (SSB) after they decide on the dates and allotments of selection centres. There are usually four centres selected across the country for the interview process that lasts for five days.
The interview is conducted by the SSB itself. The candidates have to undergo psychological assessments, group assessments and then a final round of interviews. The Stage I happens on the very first day of arrival. If the candidate clears that round, he is asked to stay back for the next levels. The candidates also have to go through a set of restorative assessments for 3 to 5 days excluding Sundays or any national holidays.
Once selected by the SSB, candidates will be permitted to start their training after the completion of the legal formalities (signatures on bonds and submission of certificates).
