The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) offers Under Graduate Honours courses in three streams: Arts, Science, Commerce and Law. However, for admission into these courses, one has to qualify their entrance exam, BHU Undergraduate Entrance Test, popularly called by its acronym BHU UET. It is a national level entrance exam conducted once every year by the university in partnership with National Testing Agency (NTA). Here is everything students need to know about this entrance test.

Exam pattern
BHU UET has a single paper for all streams with 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). For B.A. and B. Com, the questions are from English, General Aptitude (current affairs and logical reasoning) and the relevant subject. For B.Sc., the paper is divided into three sections, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology having 50 questions each. B.A. LLB paper focuses on legal knowledge as well as General Aptitude (current affairs, comprehension skills and logical reasoning). The syllabus follows any 10+2 curriculum.
Marking scheme
The total marks of BHU UET are 450. Each correct question is given 3 marks. There is a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer. Unattempted questions are not penalized. Candidates can choose to answer their papers in either English or Hindi.
Mode and duration
BHU UET is conducted offline through OMR sheets. B.A. and B.A. LLB are conducted for 2 hours, while B.Sc. and B.Com. are conducted for 2 hours and 30 minutes.
