The Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Undergraduate Entrance Test (COMEDK UGET) is a state-level entrance test for admission to engineering and architecture programmes at institutions in Karnataka. A few of them include Acharya Institute of Technology, Bangalore; Basaveshwar Engineering College, Bagalkot; Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology, Tumkur, among others. Candidates who pass the COMEDK exam are eligible for admission to over 20,000 BTech and BArch seats available followed by online counselling.
COMEDK is an autonomous organisation comprised of renowned academicians and recognised administrative officers with experience in the educational system. Apart from engineering entrance exams, it also used to conduct medical and dental entrance tests until National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) was mandated as the only acceptable entrance exam for admission to these courses. Exam pattern
The exam will have three sections: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 60 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in each subject. The entrance exam is based on the CBSE's current Class XI and XII PCM curriculum. An opportunity in the form of a mock test will be made accessible on the website as per the calendar of events in order to acquaint students with the computer-based test. Before taking the final exam, students will be given the opportunity to take up to seven different mock examinations. However, only registered applicants get access to mock tests.
Marking scheme
There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. Each correct answer will be awarded one mark each. However, in the event of a tie in the test score the principle of least negative responses (number of wrong answers) will be adopted. In addition, if required, other methods may be adopted to break ties.
Mode and duration
COMEDK UGET-2022 will be administered as a three-hour long solely through a computer-based test (CBT). It is mandatory for all candidates seeking admission to BE programmes at COMEDK member institutions to appear for the exam. The exam will be held in two slots, morning and afternoon. A merit /rank is generated based on the candidate's scores in entrance test only. All the questions and instructions of the test will be in English only.
