Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, popularly known as JNU, is one of the most premium universities in India, where students from all over the world come to study and pursue their dreams. In order to get admission into this prestigious educational institution, students need to qualify its national level entrance exam, called the Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exam or JNUEE. JNU offers UG courses only in Ayurveda Biology and languages: English, Persian, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Pashto, Arabic, Korean, French, and German. However, Post Graduate, M.Phil. and PhD programmes are offered in science and other arts subjects as well.
Once every year, JNUEE for UG courses is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of JNU. For JNUEE 2022, registration will begin from May 2022. Here is everything your youngster needs to know about this test if he wishes to study in JNU.

Exam pattern
JNUEE for under graduate courses have a single paper with two sections. The first section will have General Awareness (current affairs, logical reasoning, and English) and the second section will test the Subject Knowledge of the students. There will be 100 questions in total, the first section will have 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and the second section will have descriptive type essay questions, out of which, only 2 need to be answered. The syllabus will follow any 10+2 curriculum.
Marking Scheme
JNUEE’s first section will have 50 marks. Each correct response will be awarded 1 mark, while each wrong answer will be penalized with a negative marking of 0.5. The second section will have a few questions, out of which only 2 of 25 marks each need to be attempted. The total marks of the paper are 100. Unattempted questions will have no negative marking.
Mode and duration
JNUEE is conducted in both online and offline modes. The MCQs need to be answered through computer-based test, while the long answers need to be answered using pen and paper mode. Candidates can choose to answer their papers in either Hindi or English, or the language in concern. The duration of the entrance exam is 3 hours.
