Girls are left out quite often when it comes to ensuring education. So, the central government as well as many Indian states and private organisations have promoted women’s education by offering them various opportunities like free-schooling to granting scholarships. This year too, two private institutions, Legrand and Kotak Mahindra Group Companies have taken up the responsibility of providing grants-in-aid to girl students who have successfully passed Class XII board exams and are looking to pursue under graduate courses. Here is all about these two scholarships.
Legrand Scholarship Program 2021-22
Legrand is a multi-national company specializing in creating digital infrastructure across the world. They launched a scholarship programme for Indian girl students in 2018, with an intention of making future female leaders in the field of technology. This scholarship is specifically for meritorious girl students looking to make a career in engineering or architecture (B.Tech/B.E./B.Arch).

60% of education expenses up to INR 60,000 will be provided per annum until the end of the course (maximum 4 years). However, the student must keep performing well in academics.

Kotak Kanya Scholarship 2021
This scholarship is a joint initiative by Kotak Mahindra Group Companies and Kotak Education Foundation. They aim to provide monetary support to meritorious girl students to further their college education after passing Class XII successfully. This is part of Kotak’s CSR Project on Education and Livelihood. Female students who’re looking forward to pursuing professional undergraduate courses from any college recognised by NAAC/NBA/UGC will be provided with funding till the end of their graduation. The degree courses may be any one from this category: Engineering, medicine, architecture, designing, commerce, finance, or computer science courses. Students who wish to pursue any other course while studying CA/ LLB/ CS/ CFA/ CWA are also eligible for this scholarship.
