Institutes for jewellery designing
Some of the popular institutes in India where students can pursue jewellery designing are GIA Mumbai, where they offer 6-8-month of certificate course; Satyam Fashion Institute, Noida where they offer both 1 year diploma and 3 years B.A. honours in jewellery design. Other than these two institutes, International College of Fashion in New Delhi also offers more than one undergraduate degree courses in jewellery designing.
Eligibility criteria
Students, after completing their class 10 board exams and pursuing Arts (Science and Commerce students who are good in drawing may also apply) in higher secondary can enroll themselves in various short-term certification or crash courses available both offline and online by recognized design learning institutes across India.
Students who wish to study diploma or graduate degree courses after their class 12 board exams should secure a decent percentage (usually 50% and above) in their qualifying exam. Apart from this, they also need to sit for entrance exams that assess their design and general aptitude followed by an interview and portfolio presentation. Most institutes prefer candidates who are sixteen years and above.
