With the world turning digital, companies are increasingly employing the use of data-driven technology to make strategic decisions and favorable policies for the customers. This is driving the popularity of machine learning in India as a career option. Machine learning doesn’t require explicit programming and helps computers learn, grow, change, and develop by themselves.
To encourage machine learning among students, tech giant Amazon Inc. announced the launch of a programme Machine Learning Summer School in India. This 3-day integrated learning programme will be conducted annually to help aspirants learn about the latest trends in the field of Machine Learning and use that learning to solve real-world problems. This is a significant step towards reducing the gap between the growing demand for machine learning roles across companies and the talent pool available with necessary skills for the industry.
The course is free of cost and will be conducted from 9th July to 11th July. The timings will be 9 am to 6 pm and it will be followed by a doubt clearing question and answer session. To encourage students to enrol in this course, Amazon India has collaborated with prominent educational institutes in India such as IIT, BITS, IIIT, NIT, DTU, Anna University.
Engineering students enrolled in Bachelor’s/Master’s/ PhD degree from these 20 institutes and are expected to graduate in 2022 or 2023 are eligible to enroll in ML Summer School. Amazon’s previous and current interns are also eligible to apply for the internship. Students will get hands-on experience with applications of Machine learning that can be leveraged to solve specific business problems in the e-commerce domain such as demand forecasting, quality of catalogue, product recommendations, search ranking and digital advertising. The tutorial sessions will be covering the right blend of theoretical and practical knowledge. The training will be imparted by highly experienced Machine Learning Scientists.
What will be the selection criteria?
A selection test will be conducted on 26th June to shortlist the candidates since the seats are limited. It will divided in two parts: Part A and Part B. The duration of the test will be 45 minutes and results will be announced three days after the test.
