Nikon scholarship programme 2022-2023 for aspiring photographers
Photography is one of the most sought after and exciting career options in today’s times. From their formative years, youngsters are interested in photography, thanks to easy access to smartphone cameras. However, photography isn’t just clicking random pictures. It requires intensive training which is quite expensive. Not everyone can afford the expenses of a photography course, especially those from the unprivileged sections of the society.
So, Nikon India, a global leader in camera manufacturing, as well as imaging and optics, has come up with Nikon Scholarship Programme for the year 2022 and 2023 as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The aim is to provide financial assistance to students cum budding photographers belonging to the underprivileged sections of the society and guide them in their photography related higher education. Their campaign motto is ‘Enabling Next Generation of Photographers.’
Nikon India is aimed at empowering young individuals and get them interested in the field of photography. Their goal is to promote special photography-based learning and employment opportunities increasing the overall vocational skills of the present generation of students. Here’s everything interested candidates need to know.
Eligibility criteria
- All candidates should be citizens of India with valid identity proofs.
- Candidates should have passed their 10+2 final exams with 60 per cent or above.
- Candidates should be enrolled in a professional photography course for a duration of three months or more in a reputed college in India.
- The family income of the candidates from all sources combined should be less than INR 6 lakh per annum.
Benefits offered
Selected candidates will receive a one-time scholarship amount of INR 1 lakh to support their photography education, be it admission fees, tuition fees or expenses related to buying photographic resources like camera, lens, tripod stand and so on. They will also be provided with relevant mentorships by industry experts and offered lucrative internship opportunities with Nikon India and other associated companies.
Selection procedure
After the successful submission of the scholarship application, a thorough screening will be done based on academic background and financial need. This will be followed by a telephonic interview and the candidates shortlisted from here will be asked for a face-to-face interview for the final selection.
