The non-profit organisation of Reliance India called the Reliance Foundation is currently offering scholarships to Indian students who are pursuing their undergraduate programme in technology. The Foundation aims to support as many as 60 undergraduate scholars who belong to underprivileged families but are meritorious and are eager to pursue higher education. Their main objective is to encourage students to develop and use technology for social good and contribute to the building of a new, technologically driven India. Here are the rest of the details.

As many as 60 undergraduate students will receive a grant-in-aid amounting to INR 4 lakh per candidate. This will include their academic and technological research expenses, apart from having ready access to study resources and expert mentorship from the Reliance Foundation.
Around 80 per cent of the scholarship amount will be granted every year in advance before the start of each academic session to support students with all kinds of direct academic expenses like tuition fees. The remaining 20 per cent will be offered during the course of the programmes or if requested to support professional and personal growth and other indirect academic expenses like travel costs for attending seminars, workshops and conferences.
Apart from the generous financial support, students will also receive internship opportunities, volunteering opportunities, access to a strong alumni network of the respective universities and a chance to participate in talks on the global stage.
How to apply?
All interested candidates will have to go through a competitive process, that will include successful submission of their application, review by the panel and then final call for a virtual interview. The interview panel will comprise of Indian and international experts from technological fields.
The application process consists of two letters of reference, one to highlight academic accomplishments and another that attests character and leadership skills. Two essays also need to be submitted, one with a personal statement and two with a Statement of Purpose (the word limits for both are 500 words or less).

The deadline of the application is 18th February, 2022, 11:59 pm IST. Shortlisted scholars will be announced by June 2022 at the latest.
