Eligibility criteria
Exam pattern
SRMJEE has a single paper with objective type questions. There will be a total of 125 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and the paper is divided into five parts namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology, English and General Aptitude. While the Physics and Chemistry sections have 35 questions each, the Mathematics or Biology section has 40 questions. Additionally, English and Aptitude sections have 5 and 10 questions respectively. The syllabus follows that of any 10+2 curriculum of Indian school board.
Marking scheme
In SRMJEE, each correct response is awarded with 3 marks while each wrong answer is penalised with a deduction of 1 mark. However, there is no negative marking for unattempted questions. The Physics and Chemistry section has 105 marks each, followed by the Mathematics or Biology section with 120 marks, and finally English and General Aptitude with 15 and 30 marks respectively. Thus, the total marks for this entrance exam are 375. Students who score 50 percent or above qualify for the interview round.
