Recently, Techtextil India, a trade fair, was inaugurated in Mumbai, the financial capital of India, to bring together the technology and textile industry. This venture had so long been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Technical textile is a modern emerging textile industry that manufactures textile products for unconventional purposes and serves technology-based industries like automobile industry, civil engineering and construction industry, healthcare industry, agricultural industry and industrial protection and safety. COVID-19 protective gears like N-95 masks and PPE kits fall under technical textiles.
What is Techtextil India
Techtextil India is an event organised by Messe Frankfurt India at the Bombay Exhibition Centre from 26th November to 3rd December. The high-profile initiative was introduced in the form of a trade fair inaugurated by formidable industrial and governmental officials. The event is overseen by Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings Limited, Indian Technical Textile Associations (ITTA), and the German Consulate.
Objectives of Techtextil India 2021
The goal of this venture was to explore the future market potential of technical textiles, be revealed in the form of live knowledge sessions and seminars, live product demonstrations and B2B networking opportunities. They aim to unify the technical textile value chain industry and help in their business recovery and growth. The fair also focussed on the importance of start-ups, business restart, while providing opportunities to young attendees of technical textile learning, sourcing and business.

Key highlights of Techtextil India 2021
One of the key attractions of Techtextil India 2021 was the special exhibit of German technology at a reserved German Pavilion. It featured some of the most popular technical textile producers from Germany.
Techtextil India also showcased the skillfulness of domestic technical textile industry that not only facilitates investment promotions but also facilitates the state and union governments.
The attendees were also witness to the inauguration of the upcoming venture called ‘Techtextil India Digital Symposium’ that will help them understand the growth prospect of technical textiles in India. The objective was to make a visible change in India’s technical textile landscape through proper investments and innovations.
