With over 19,000 participants in the Prelims, the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records have officially recognised it as the record holder for 'Maximum Participation in an Online School Quiz.' Students from 32 countries competed in the preliminary round for a spot in the Top 40 of the Junior and Senior categories. The toppers in the Junior Champs category of ClassAct 2022 share their journey with HT School in a free-wheeling chat. Here’s what they said.
Aarya Sharma, Tagore International School, New Delhi, Grade IV

“The quiz masters were really good and the topics they covered were so interesting. There were so many questions about movie characters and cartoons.” The question on mushroom cut hairstyle was the fourth grader’s favourite among all others. Thanks to the enriching experience he’s had, the little quizzer is already looking forward to participating in the next edition of ClassAct 2023.
Vihaan Arora, Delhi Public School, New Delhi, Grade I
Rank: 7
This was young Vihaan’s debut live quiz experience and he is thrilled to have bagged the 7th rank in the Junior category of ClassAct 2022. “I would like to thank Hindustan Times for giving me a live quiz opportunity,” he says. He loved the question on Lord Hanuman. Like Aarya, Vihaan is also looking forward to participating in more such quizzing opportunities from the HT Media Group in the near future.
Paarth Jain, Bombay Scottish School, Mumbai, Grade III
Rank: 8
It was a momentous feat for Paarth, an avid quizzer, to have participated in a quiz that involved 19,000 + students and emerged as one of the winners in the in the Junior category. “I take part in our school’s quiz club, the WhizKids Club, where our teachers encourage us to exchange ideas and information with junior and senior students that we’ve learnt through any other platform,” says Paarth.
"This contest encouraged many students like me to test their speed and accuracy, while increasing the knowledge,” he says.
Advit Deepak, Bombay Scottish School, Mumbai, Grade II
Rank: 9
Like the other quizzers, this second grader too found ClassAct 2022 to be an exciting and engaging experience. This was the first time that both Advit and his twin brother had taken part in a quiz of this magnitude. “I am quite glad that I got the 9th rank in ClassAct 2022 in the Junior category in my first attempt itself. I would definitely like to participate in more such quiz contests in the near future,” says Advit narrating his journey through ClassAct 2022.
While the entire experience was a memorable one for the Advit, he especially liked the question related to Loki, the Norse God of mischief. “Loki happens to be Thor’s brother and I am fond of Thor,” he shares. Advit also found the questions on baby shark, T-Rex and Chota Bheem to be well-framed.
