Last year, in the wake of the ongoing pandemic, the Central Board of Secondary Education decided to conduct the board examinations for Class 10 and 12 students in a two-term format. While Term I exams were for 90 marks and held in the offline mode, the Term II, comprising 120 marks, will be held in the online mode. The dates for the Term II CBSE exams are yet to be released. Most likely, they will take place between March and April 2022.
However, a fake notice regarding the dates has been doing the rounds on social media. Clarifying on the same, the CBSE has advised students to look out for bona fide information only through CBSE’s official website or contact their school authorities for time and other important issues.
Well, time is of utmost importance in terms of cracking an examination. Here are some important time management tips to help students ace the Term II CBSE exams. Read on.
Help in creating a study schedule
Having a study routine in place is the first step towards managing time for any exam, including the CBSE Term II exams. While helping your kids prepare for this exams, guide them to allocate sufficient time to each subject over the entire week. Help them determine the most productive time of day for themselves. Some people study better during the day, while others perform better at night, hence the kids can study accordingly.
Initiate practising smart study techniques
Various methods will aid your children in memorising your lessons for CBSE Term II board exams more effectively and quickly. Pomodoro technique is an option to try, which has been scientifically proven to improve cognitive agility. Through this easy strategy, children can study for 25 minutes at a time, take a little break, and then return to another 25-minute session. Another smart study technique that can be utilised for better time management with your kids’ exam preparation is mind mapping. It includes creating graphic representations of concepts and ideas for better retention. Assist your examinee in making use of this method either through pen and paper or any digital app and see the difference.
Manage the exam time well
Time management during the course of an exam is extremely crucial for any exam, especially the CBSE exam. Encourage your kids to solve mock question papers as well as create a mock exam setup in a time-bound manner in their study room. Repeat this method frequently, at least twice a week, to check the speed.
Help them keep an eye on the clock
It's critical to keep a track of how much time has gone past since the exam began. Encourage your kid to practise this at home during a mock exam at home. He should sit for this mock test at home with a wrist watch. Suggest that he checks the time at regular intervals. Also, help them keep their answers succinct and precise, including all of the relevant information without going into too much detail. This will help them stick to the schedule.
Use the question reading time judiciously
During an exam, students are given an additional 15-minute period for reading questions. To make the exam prep complete and effective, encourage your kids to follow the same pattern during the mock test at home. Guide them to focus on understanding the questions thoroughly, as well as deciding which ones to attempt first. Doing so, the kids will approach the questions in a better way and also utilise the reading time in the right manner.
