The 2022 edition of the Hindustan Olympiad, which was jointly organized by HT Media and Doubtnut, a popular learning platform, was a staggering success with over 65,000 registrations. With a 6-year long legacy, the nationwide exam has provided a unique platform for students of grades 1-12 from all over India to compete at a national level and test their academic abilities. It concluded with the Finale on March 30. The winners of this Olympiad were declared in an online felicitation ceremony which was livestreamed today at 4 pm. Click on the following links to watch it:

During the course of the event, the names of the State toppers of the prestigious Olympiad were announced, while the District toppers were contacted separately. The list of eminent speakers for the felicitation ceremony included luminaries like Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examination, CBSE (Guest Of Honour) and Dr Shayama Chona, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri Awardee, and President of Tamana among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bharadwaj said, “In a country like India which is so vast, although education falls under the concurrence of the Constitution, it becomes difficult for the government alone to promote it singlehandedly. This initiative by Hindustan Times shows how private and corporate companies can also take up their social responsibility to make education accessible and to promote skills required for the India of tomorrow.” Further emphasising the need to enhance education, Dr Chona observed, “The times are changing fast. We don’t know what is to come in the future, even in 50 years. But, our education should be susceptible to this kind of change, and in fact, consider change as the ‘guru.’”
Doubtnut’s co-founder, Aditya Shankar, how this nationwide exam is beneficial to students. “The Hindustan Olympiad gives an opportunity to the 1.2 billion students across India to compete and test their academic skills and to foster improvement in themselves each day,” he said. Puja Sharma, HT Media’s Head of Special Initiatives, focussed on the company’s vision for this Olympiad. “It has always been our intent that every last child has a chance to demonstrate their academic proficiency on a nationwide platform,” she said.
The winners of Hindustan Olympiad were divided into two categories: State toppers (total 93) and District toppers (total 1330). The candidates with the highest marks in their grade from among all participants from their state were selected as state toppers. Those who scored the highest marks in their grade from among all participants from their district were selected as district toppers. If a state topper had already emerged from a district, the next highest scorer from that district was named as the district topper. In case of a tie, the student who took the shortest time was declared as the winner.
The cherry on top of this event was the vast array of prizes awarded to the winners. The state toppers received a cheque worth ₹5,100 along with a trophy, certificate of merit, free access to Doubtnut Premium Courses and a direct entry into Doubtnut's Toppers Batch (Super 100). District toppers were awarded with a cheque worth ₹2,100, certificate of merit and free access to Doubtnut Premium Courses. The toppers from each school were given a 50% scholarship (50% off on the fees) for Doubtnut Premium Courses. Additionally, all participants will receive a certificate of participation.
