A recent report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says that climate change will fundamentally reshape life on Earth in the decades to come even if we are able to control planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions. The catastrophic impact of climate change are far reaching, touching almost every aspect of our lives. It may lead to a massive increase in various diseases including dengue fever and vector-borne diseases, the number of malnourished children, natural disasters flood, heat and water scarcity while triggering a significant drop in global crop production. These are only a few impacts of climate change. Assessing the implications and potential future risks of climate change, one question that comes to the mind is: Are we sowing the seeds of our own demise? It's high time we wake up to the call of Mother Earth and take the necessary actions.
