Many kids and even parents confuse a career in technology with programming skills, loosely called coding nowadays. But students who are not proficient with programming languages can still have successful tech careers. Here are 4 of them.
UI Design
User Interface designers establish the look and feel of a software interface for its users. UI designers are responsible for visual design through each stage from concept to marketing, including the engineering phase. They check whether clear communication of ideas and instructions is happening through wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and sitemaps. They make the interface a cohesive whole by fitting in each element with the other to ensure everything works together and does not look out of place. UI designers have a big market demand.
User experience designer
User experience (UX) designers create products with the end-user in mind. The field of UX varies greatly in terms of work. Some UX designers focus on user research, others on prototyping products. Conducting user research and carrying out UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and accordingly creating the best architecture for the site or app to maximize ease of use is the UX designer’s main job. Once the design is ready, they create the wire framing and prototype test versions, performing data analysis in tandem with engineering and design teams. UX designers have a particularly good market demand with start-ups in India.
Software quality tester
Software quality testers (SQTs) test the hardiness and workings of software products prior to public launch to ensure they are working as they should. This is obviously a highly demanded and specialized field. SQTs run functional, stress, and scalability tests across customer test cases, look for bugs and breakages and improve the quality of the product as much as possible before launch.
Search engine optimization (SEO)
SEO is supposed to be a marketing role, but SEO specialists are tech people who understand search engine algorithms very well. They collaborate with app and content developers and web designers to ensure SEO best practices are implemented across a website or app. Their area of work consists of only we properties discoverable by search engine.
