ClassAct 2022, The Hindustan Times Republic Day Quiz: Step-by-step Guide for Finalists
ClassAct 2022, The Hindustan Times Republic Day Quiz is all set for the Grand Finale scheduled to start from 3 PM tomorrow. The Prelims of this much-anticipated online quiz, held on 23rd January, saw a record participation from students all across the globe, including registrations from 32 countries across 5 continents. While the number of registrations stands at 50,611, the total number of participants in the Prelims was 32,644. The list of 150 finalists will be released on the official page of ClassAct 2022, The Hindustan Times Republic Day Quiz by evening today.
The Grand Finale of the ClassAct 2022, The Hindustan Times Republic Day Quiz will be conducted by India’s celebrated quizmasters, Dr. Navin Jayakumar and Avinash Mudaliar. Dr. Jayakumar is the founding member of The Quiz Foundation of India and is also the quizmaster for reputed national quizzes, such as the Landmark Quiz, the Murugappa Madras Quotient School Quiz and the Rotary Galaxy Science and Technology Quiz to name a few. Avinash Mudaliar from HT Labs is a renowned quizmaster with decades of quizzing experience. The EY Knowledge Quiz, Microsoft Bhashaindia and GIM Wizbiz are a few among the several national quizzes that he has hosted. Everyone will be able to watch the event live here. The final list of winners (40 toppers from the Junior Category in Prelims and 40 from the Finals) will be announced shortly after the quiz. Before the quiz commences, Dr. Jayakumar will be explaining the answers of the Prelims questions to help budding quizzers hone their skills. Schedule of the Grand Finale
The Grand Finale of ClassAct 2022, The Hindustan Times Republic Day Quiz will be conducted on the Zoom and Quizizz platforms. Here is the detailed schedule:
2:30 pm: Reporting of the finalists
3:00 PM to 3:10 PM: Welcome speech and introduction of the quizmasters
3:10 PM to 3:45 PM: A brief run-through of the Prelims questions
3:45 PM to 4:00 PM: Pre-Finale briefing of finalists by Dr. Navin Jayakumar
4:00 PM to 6:00 PM: The Finale commences
6:00 to 6:20 PM: The 40 winners from the Junior Category will be announced (based on their performance in the Prelims)
6:25 to 6:45 PM: The Finale winners will be announced (4th-40th place)
6:45 PM to 7:00 PM: The top 3 winners of the Finale will be felicitated
7:00 to 7:15 PM: Quizmasters Dr. Navin Jayakumar and Avinash Mudaliar will address the audience and quizzers
7:15 PM to 7:20 PM: Vote of thanks
Participation Guidelines
- Finalists have to report at 2:30 pm.
- Check your registered email ID and WhatsApp number for the Finale Zoom link. (Don’t forget to check your spam/ promotions/ social folders as well!)
- Sign in to Zoom using the email ID you used while registering for the quiz. Using a different email ID may lead to disqualification.
- While logging on to Zoom, ensure that all your details match with your registration information.
- Your video camera must remain ON throughout the Finale.
- Keep your mic on mute until you are requested to unmute yourself.
- In case you are NOT able to access your Finale Zoom link or face any other issues, call at +91-95133-19722 or email at support@ht-school.com.
- After the Pre-Finale briefing of finalists by Dr. Navin Jayakumar on Zoom, you will be given the Quizizz link on the Zoom chat box.
- Enter your full name in the “Your Quizizz name is…” box on the Quizizz platform. Ensure that your Quizizz name is the same name with which you signed in to Zoom.
- The Finale will have 30 questions, and the instructions for them will be provided before the quiz. The quizmasters will read out each question. They will be either Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) or type-in questions. If the question is an MCQ, the options will be displayed on your Quizizz question slide only after the quizmaster finishes reading aloud the question. For all type-in questions, your answer must match exactly with the answer that has been plugged into the software. The scoring is entirely automated, and the decision of the quizmasters will be final and binding.
- For type-in questions, type in your answer in the textbox provided and then click the ‘Submit’ button or press “Enter”. Avoid using dots, hyphens, apostrophes, commas, accents, or any other special characters in the textbox provided. Also remember that type-in answers are not case-sensitive.
- After submitting the answer to the 30th question, you can leave the Quizizz platform and remain on the Zoom platform. You will see a message “ALL DONE!” on the screen.
- The final rankings will depend on the performance (speed and accuracy) of all the finalists who competed in the ClassAct 2022 Finale. The scoring is entirely automated, and the decision of the quizmasters will be final and binding
If you lose internet connectivity or face any other technical issues it is possible to re-enter the Quizizz link. However, you may have missed a few questions, depending on the duration you were away. You will only be able to join back from the point where the quiz is at that moment.
What Will be the Prizes?
ClassAct 2022 will surely be a Finale worth remembering! The icing on the cake is that there are 1.25 lakh worth Amazon gift vouchers to grab. The top 80 winners (40 from the Junior category in the Prelims and 40 toppers from the Finale) will be awarded with these vouchers. All participants will be given a participation certificate from Hindustan Times. Here are the details of the prizes:
