In a world dominated by science and technology, there are still a large number of students who wish to pursue arts and humanities. The English and Foreign Language University (EFLU), a university dedicated to language and literature studies, can be a good option for them to pursue Graduation (UG), Post-Graduation (PG), M.Phil and Ph.D in English and other foreign languages like Arabic, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Persian, Japanese, Korean and Turkish. In fact, the university specialises in the domains of teacher education, world literature and linguistics, and interdisciplinary and cultural studies.
This central university conducts a national level entrance exam for admission into its UG courses in the departments of English and other foreign languages across its 3 campuses: Hyderabad, Lucknow and Shillong. Exam pattern
The entrance exam for all under-graduate B.A. Honours courses, namely English, French, German, Spanish, Arabic, Japanese, Russian, and Sanskrit have 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The syllabus follows any 10+2 curriculum and focusses on subject knowledge, general aptitude (current affairs, logical reasoning etc.) and English grammar and comprehension skills.
Marking scheme
The total marks of EFLU entrance exam are 100. Each question carries 1 mark for every correct answer. There’s a negative marking of 0.25 for every incorrect response. Unattempted questions are exempted from any negative marking.
Mode and duration
EFLU entrance exam is conducted online, through computer-based mode. Candidates have to answer their papers in English or the relevant languages. The duration of the admission test is 2 hours.
