In India, engineering and medical are often the most sought-after career options. However, there are science lovers who wish to opt for science degree courses instead. They can go for B.Sc. programmes right after Class XII exams. For UG science aspirants, the Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, popularly called GITAM conducts a national level entrance exam called the GSAT (GITAM Science Admission Test). The UG courses offered by the university are BCA (Bachelors of Computer Application), BEM (Bachelors of Environmental Management) and B.Sc. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Computer Science, Statistics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Food Technology and Bioinformatics. Registration for GSAT 2022 will tentatively begin in March 2022. Here’s everything aspiring candidates need to know.
Eligibility criteria
Exam pattern
GSAT comprises of a single paper having 60 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The paper is divided into two parts, Part 1 and 2. Part 1 comprises of 30 questions on general aptitude, while Part 2 has 30 more questions focusing on the specified subject. The syllabus follows that of any 10+2 science curriculum in India.
Marking scheme
The total marks of GSAT are 60. Every correct response is awarded 1 positive marks. There’s no negative marking for wrong answers or unattempted questions.
Mode and duration
GSAT is conducted offline via pen and paper mode. The duration of the exam is 1 hour.
