Scholarships or financial aids are the backbone of an education system. They allow merit to flourish amidst financial challenges. In the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, thousands of students have lost their parents making it difficult (impossible in some cases!) for them to continue with their studies. There are also others, whose parents, the sole bread-earners of the family have lost jobs during the pandemic making them unable to pay school fees. Amidst such a crisis, two organizations have stepped up to make a worthwhile difference in the lives of students with COVID-affected families. They are offering scholarships to these students to ensure that they can continue with their studies. Here is a low-down on them.
Digital Bharati Covid Scholarship
This is a benevolent initiative by PI India (Parliamentarians with Innovators for India) to lend support to primary and secondary students whose one or both parents have succumbed to COVID. This five-year long stipend will be specifically conferred to these students who will receive vouchers to subscribe to the online learning portals for study assistance. The initiative also includes providing gadget supports to relevant students.

Covid Crisis (Jyoti Prakash) Support Scholarship
This initiative has been taken by the Buddy4Study India Foundation to assist students whose families have suffered massive financial setback (loss of jobs, shutdown of business and commerce etc.) due to COVID-19 pandemic. Concerned students will also receive suitable career counselling from professionals and free access to relevant online courses. Benefits include:
