Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test, also known as IMU CET is a national level entrance exam conducted every year by the Indian Maritime University for admission into under graduate courses in 10 affiliated colleges for aspiring navy merchants. The courses offered are: B. Tech in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering (both for 4 years each), B.Sc. in Nautical Science or Ship Building and Repair (both for 3 years each) and BBA in Logistics, Retailing and E-Commerce (3 years). The entrance exam is conducted across 36 cities in India. This year the exam has been postponed due to administrative reasons. Registration for IMU CET 2022 will tentatively begin from April 2022. Exam pattern
IMU CET has a single question paper that is divided into five sections namely: Physics (50 questions), Chemistry (20 questions), Mathematics (50 questions), English (40 questions) and Aptitude (40 questions on current affairs and logical reasoning). There will be a total of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The syllabus will be from any 10+2 curriculum of Indian school boards.
Marking scheme
The total marks for IMU CET are 200. 1 positive mark will be awarded for each correct answer. There will be no negative marking for wrong or unattempted answers.
Mode and duration
The mode of this entrance exam is online proctored test. The duration is 2 hours. Candidates can choose to answer their paper in either English or Hindi.
