Kriti Fellowship 2021-2022 is a collaborative initiative by Hyphen Designs, along with IndiaCSR and Discovery Village to provide scholarships to young artists in India. This fellowship programme aims to provide opportunities to young Indian aspiring artists to pursue art as a reputable career option and in turn bring about a meaningful change in the society through their innovation and creativity. Under this fellowship, 25 artists will be eligible to get a grant-in-aid alongside mentorship and internship prospects that will include creating artworks out of waste plastic to create awareness about sustainability, conservation of environment and climate change. Top 25 entries will be selected for this fellowship programme and will be entitled to benefits such as, a scholarship of INR 1 lakh per year that will be renewed every year till the completion of the course. They will also receive mentorship by a jury of eminent artists over a period of three weeks, internship opportunities at the end of their course and opportunity to be an active member in a museum-making process. The museum will be exhibiting the artworks and will be called the Museum of Plastic Waste Art, a first of its kind in India.
How to apply?
Along with the application form, candidates will be required to submit a prototype or a graphic design of their actual dream artwork (it can be either a painting or a sculpture) alongside a one page or 500-word concept note or statement of purpose explaining their idea in details on one of the five themes or topics mentioned below.
