LIC or Life Insurance Corporation of India has been responsible for taking care of generations of Indians with their insurance policies, financial schemes and other funding programmes. This year, LIC celebrates its 50th anniversary with the announcement of a Golden Jubilee scholarship scheme targeted towards meritorious, underprivileged students of the country.
LIC Golden Jubilee scholarship scheme 2021 is reserved for students who belong to the economically weaker section of the society, are either pursuing their 10+2 or are admitted to an undergraduate programme. This scholarship is for students whose families have low-income margins. Students need to be pursuing their education from any government or private schools and colleges in India. Eligible candidates should have a passion to work in various professions like engineering and technology, administration, medicine or humanities.

All selected candidates pursuing undergraduate courses will receive approximately INR 20,000 per year. The amount will be payable in three instalments. However, students need to secure 50 per cent or above in their ongoing under-graduation every year to avoid discontinuation of the scholarship.
Single Girl Child pursuing higher secondary education will also receive INR 10000 per annum, payable in three instalments. The scholarship is open to renewal if these female students pursue under-graduation after their school finals.
The amount will be provided via NEFT (National Electronic Fund Transfer) from LIC corporation to the bank account of the candidate directly. Candidates who are shortlisted are therefore required to share their bank account details on the application form.
Candidates will also receive mentorship in their respective career courses from experts appointed by LIC. The scholarship will last for the entire duration of the courses.
