Logitech Rugged Combo 3 Folio: Why students find it a great gadget 

Online classes brought most school students close to laptops, tabs and iPads – sometime too close for comfort. Not just primary school kids or active middle school goers, but even teens ready to enter the adult world often proved to be messy users of technology. They slouched over their devices, dropped morsels of food on the keyboard, and, this is the worst, accidentally plopped a tablet into a cup of health drink. To evade these mishaps and ergonomic challenges, the accessories market saw a never-before boom. One of the gadgets that started trending then, and continues doing so now, is the Logitech Rugged Combo. Simply put, it’s just a keyboard case. But there’s much more to it than that, and we are going to look at these below.   

What is the Logitech Rugged Combo?  
We have taken up the Logitech Rugged Combo 3 for a closer look. It’s their latest model. It’s a drop protective keyboard case for iPads, but in India at least, students seem to be using it with any other tablet if they can fit in. Logitech decided to call it ‘rugged’ because it is seriously hardy, and it’s a ‘combo’ because it can be propped up as a tablet stand, while it protects keyboards and makes typing easier. The company designed it in collaboration with educators, administrators and IT specialists. Apart from the high sale figures on Amazon, Flipkart, and other online as well as physical stores, the Logitech Rugged Combo 3 was the Winner of Good Design Award 2021 by Good Design Australia, an industrial design body who have been giving out the prestigious award since 1958.  

Why did the Logitech Rugged Combo become a student trend?  
During the lockdown, the whole infra of K-12 classrooms shifted online. To withstand continuous and rough usage by youngsters, tablets needed durable and functional cases. These were also required to be as light and thin as possible, as well as ergonomically designed. Rugged Combo 3 answered these needs of students, teachers and parents. Students must have been particularly happy with the waterproof membrane that covered the keyboard and sturdy yet light design. The keyboard also has a palm rest, making it easy to hold it on the lap and type.
