Just within a few months after its release in late 2021, Wordle became the rage all over the world. The word game is loved by young and old, and has become a viral phenomenon worldwide. It has also given rise to new games coming up which retain the fundamental core of the game, along with a few new twists and features. A few examples included ‘Nerdle’, a game similar to Wordle but more mathematics-based and ‘Worldle’, a game designed for those interesting geography. In this vast array of these game clones, one stands out- Squabble, which is a mash up of the word game and Battle Royale, the popular action thriller which was released in 2000. Here is all you need to know about it.
How is Squabble Battle Royale played?
This game is similar to the Wordle race against multiple players. Players will be put together and tasked to guess the correct 5-letter word within six attempts. The pressure here comes from the limited time in which the answer has to be guessed with all the players racing to answer it correctly. Unlike Wordle, this game has points for correct answers. Moreover, for every incorrect guess, or even if a player attempts to think of different word possibilities, his/ her points can get deducted. This thrilling process goes on until only one single player is left, who ends up being the winner.
What are the different modes in this version of Squabble?
There are two different modes of play in Squabble namely, 1. Blitz and 2. Battle Royale. The former has a smaller gameplay which can only have 5 players. In this version, the players will be allocated a virtual room where they compete with each other to get to the correct word. For this version, a code can be generated which has to be shared with the other players who want to join in. On the other hand, the latter, i.e., Battle Royal can have as many as 99 players at a time.
What makes Squabble Battle Royale so unique?
Just like most other games which involve battle where a large number players fight with each other until only one survives, Squabble’s version follows the same premise and strategy. However, one thing which sets it apart and also the aspect that parents would love, is that these battles do not include any kinds of weapons. In fact, the weapons are the words, thus making it, quite literally, a battle of words.
