Speed is a major factor for serious gamers. In a country like ours, a sweaty palm can kill the speed of the hand holding the gaming mouse. This seems to be a common problem for lots of gamers all over the world though, irrespective of climate. And that is why the sweat-proof gamming mouse has made its appearance in the market.
Marsback, the company that has made the sweat proof mouse, had launched a version in 2020. It was called Zephyr and featured a tiny built-in fan designed to cool the palm as the user played games. Though small, the fan made a lot of noise, and what’s worse, it vibrated. Instead of being an interesting improvement, it was a distraction.
What does the new sweat proof mouse look like?
The external design hasn’t changed much in the 2021 version. The new version, Zephyr Pro, has a honeycomb design with RGB lighting strip, all of which are a common sight in most gaming gadgets. It’s lighter than most normal mouse, but that too is typical of gaming mouse. In short, it’s not anything different as far as appearances go.
What are the special features of the new Zephyr?
The Zephyr Pro has in-built memory and software to allow users to customize button functionality and the RGB lighting. Strangely though there’s no way to control fan speed. We either switch it on or off. But most users are leaving it on since it doesn’t make much noise and actually cools those sweaty palms. Marsback has further versions planned, so we can look forward to more features in near future.
What is the improvement in the fan and sweat-proofing feature?
The main change is in the performance of the fan of the 2021 version. While it’s not silent, the fan can hardly be heard separately above the hum of a computer. Besides, the fan has been tilted at a 45 degree angle by the manufacturer, Marsback. There’s a clear draft blowing into the palm and the effect is enjoyable. The sales figures have also gone up.
