Just like any other competitive entrance exam, in case of NEET too, the theory paper and the counselling round are totally different and should also have distinct approaches. Right before counselling, one needs to revise whatever he or she has already studied for the theory exam, keeping in mind certain useful tips and tricks to ace this final round of NEET. Here’s how parents can help their medical aspirants to crack the counselling round.
Divide the study time judiciously
Before NEET counselling, parents can divide their youngsters’ study time in such a way that they can allot adequate time to each section from the syllabus and study them in great details. Every year there are certain topics that are more important than the rest. Hence, the aim is to help them research and find out about those.
Organise the study materials
Parents can encourage their youngsters to organise their study materials in a designated location and keep them close as they can come in handy during studying and referencing. There is a plethora of books for NEET counselling, but the key is to buy the ones that have the latest updated versions and are recommended by teachers and experts.
Set deadlines
This will help your youngster effectively prepare for NEET counselling. The short-term goals should include studying each topic, one by one, as per priority while the long-term goals should include revising all the topics covered so far during the weekends and appearing for mock sessions thereafter. Youngsters should also be encouraged to consult teachers and seniors whenever they have queries.
Make a comprehensive study plan
Help your aspiring medical aspirant make a comprehensive study plan for NEET counselling. Writing down notes or using bullet points while studying important topics is often helpful. Another significant part of preparing for NEET counselling is to know the syllabus thoroughly, without leaving any topic untouched. The goal is to understand the concepts and not memorize them blindly. Making flashcards is a good idea for students prepping for NEET counselling. Also, track the progress every few days to evaluate performance.
