Some people are born with hidden gifts that help them excel in some field or the other. While some have a talent for visual art or music, others may have a penchant for poetry, rhythm or dancing. Are you are trying to figure out what gift your little one is born with? Well then, the possibilities are endless. If you see your child takes interest in physical activities and loves grooving to music, consider signing her up for a dancing class. Here are some other signs which may suggest that your child will grow up to be a great dancer.
Interest in music
Does your child love music? If she does and takes special interest in songs with beats, then that could be a sign for you to catch. In fact, this may be one of the earliest signs that your daughter has a knack for dancing.
Sense of rhythm
Play songs with beats and tempo and watch your child. See if she naturally picks up the rhythm and grooves to the music. An innate sense of rhythm is a gift necessary for a successful dancer. Nurture this talent by having fun jamming sessions together. Just play a song and dance along. You can use a shaker or a drum to enhance the performance.
Immense energy
Kids have a lot of energy and they hardly get tired. However, some are so energetic that it’s tough to have them sit quietly for a while. If you see your child exploring herself through movement, then she is a physical learner. She will learn better through physical activities than books. This means she has advanced fine-motor skills, which, if honed properly, can make her into a great dancer. You never know, she can become an athlete too.
Enthusiasm
Does the idea of dancing excite your child? Does she enjoy swaying to music? If you see your child grooving to music quite often, or watching dance shows on TV or YouTube in her free time, then she has passion and enthusiasm for the craft. Help your little one pursue her passion from an early age.
Spatial awareness
A good dancer knows how to use her space without bumping into others or coming in their way. This is what is known as spatial awareness. Though it comes with practice, your child may have an innate spatial awareness. Watch how she uses her space while playing or dancing with other kids. A child who flutters about a space with graceful movements without accidentally slamming against an obstacle or can be a great performing artist.
