The most popular messaging application in India is undoubtedly WhatsApp. People use WhatsApp for personal as well as professional communication while students use this messaging app to form group chats with their classmates and teachers to effectively and efficiently disseminate information. Starting from class schedules to assignments and exams, WhatsApp keeps everyone in the loop. It has now become an integral part of children’s lives. Sometimes while writing assignments on the laptop, they need to access WhatsApp study groups for discussions and queries. It becomes a little difficult at those times to switch devices. So, using WhatsApp on the laptop may be a good solution for them.
WhatsApp Web is a feature which allows users to access their chats and messages through a browser window on the laptop. It is a fairly simple process. Here’s how your child can use WhatsApp Web:
Step #1: Open a browser window on your laptop or pc.
Step #2: Go to the site: ‘https://web.whatsapp.com’. On the screen, you will see a QR Code displayed on the right-hand side.
Step #3: Open WhatsApp on your phone.
Step #4: Tap the three vertical dots on the top right corner, which will open a Menu.
Step #5: Select WhatsApp Web.
Step #6: It will open a QR Code scanner. Point it in the direction of the QR Code displayed on your laptop screen.
This is how a student can access all their WhatsApp chats and groups on the computer. Smart tip for busy pupils: If you check the small ‘keep me signed in’ box below the QR Code, you won’t need to repeat these steps every time you wish to access WhatsApp Web. Make sure the box is not checked in if you are not on a personal computer.
Logging Out of WhatsApp Web
Your child can also log out of WhatsApp Web from their phone even if they are away from their computer. Here’s what they should do:
Just follow steps #4 and #5 and it will display a list of all devices you are logged on to through WhatsApp Web. Click on the device you wish to log out of and select the Log Out option.
