We all have heard of hero cops, haven’t we? Be it rescuing a bunch of poor, innocent kids from child trafficking or saving the protagonist from a kidnapper, they do it all. Unfortunately, these hero cops appear more in fictions than in real life. But the good news is, police, the real-life ones, from Mizoram have done us proud. Mizoram Police as a unit have achieved quite a feat by securing a place in the World Book of Records.
Mizoram Police: Cracking a world record
The Mizoram Police have received the prestigious Gold Edition 2022 certificate from the United Kingdom’s World Book of Records for the sheer dedication and devotion of their officers. Turns out, they were conferred this coveted award for two specific missions. The first was ‘seizure of the largest consignments of smuggled exotic animals’ (as many as 468 species) in May, followed by ‘a mega expedition to dispose of narcotic substances’ (approximately 930.229 kilograms) in June. The entire police department of this north-eastern state has shared reactions via Twitter for being both widely acclaimed and duly recognised. They police have also gone ahead and dedicated the award to their family members and public, for supporting them in their endeavours.
World Book of Records, United Kingdom: An overview
For those unaware, World Book of Records, UK is a collaborative effort by India and United Kingdom. It was launched by the Indo-UK Intellectuals Forum to recognise talents for world records through international certification as well as by honouring organisations and individuals for their outstanding contribution in the fields of humanity and universal peace. In simpler terms, World Book of Records is an establishment that catalogues and verifies extraordinary records worldwide through their Gold, Silver and Bronze Edition awards. As you can understand, their primary aim is to record, honour, list and appreciate both authentic and adjudicate events of world-class standards.
