Curiosity
Curiosity is the most important trait of a great quizzer and the good news is young minds like you are inquisitive by nature. You want to find out everything under the sun, be it how something works or why something exists the way it does. This curiosity will take you a long way as a quizzer. In fact, nurturing this curiosity can help you figure out more about your interests.
Smart Tips: Learn to ask questions. The more you ask, the better the clarity. Just like charity, questioning should also begin at home. You can start with parents, siblings and grandparents. This will ignite your thought process. Also, have them ask you questions. Needless to say, all these will spark your curiosity.
Risk taking tendency
Taking risks is a significant trait observed in a great quizzer. Sometimes, while playing individually or in a group, a budding quizzer tends to attempt a question even if he or she isn’t sure of the answer. Taking a chance like this will definitely make you a better and more confident quizzer. Remember, it’s not possible for you to know the right answer every time. However, trying to answer with the help of your logical reasoning and educated guesswork might do the trick.
Smart Tips: Arrange a fun and short, home quiz session with your parents and siblings. Don’t pass any question, even if you aren’t sure of the answer. Try to come up with a nearly correct one. The aim is to simply allow yourself to answer a question for the thrill of participation. This can help you stick to the trial-and-error method while becoming a seasoned quizzer.
Memory
People who have been quizzing for years will certainly know more than an average person. It’s a no-brainer. Quizzers always welcome new information, and the more they quiz their minds, the sharper their memory gets. No wonder they are blessed with an enviable retention capacity. So, if you are someone who can often recall interesting and unusual bits of information, by mere observation or through a simple conversation, you can definitely become a quizzer and ace it too!
Smart Tips: Maintain a dairy or a notepad where you would like to record important and interesting facts and figures. You can also use flashcards. Making acronyms out of some terminologies can be useful in remembering them.
Attention to detail
Some people observe more minutely and closely than others. It just comes naturally to them. They are the ones likely to notice details about people, places and objects that would often be missed by others. They love to capture trivial details too! If you are someone with this ace, then you can go a long way in quizzing.
Smart Tips: Develop the habit of catching up on day-to-day events, be it from the internet, books or the newspaper. This can enhance your ability to pay attention to details. Don’t fail to share what you observe with the people around you. Your capacity to capture details will improve if you share and discuss them with others.
