ClassAct 2023 is a national level quiz meant for all students of grades 1 to 12. The Prelims will happen asynchronously, whereas the Finale will be co-hosted by two of India’s most distinguished quizmasters, Dr. Navin Jayakumar and Mr. Avinash Mudaliar. Both of them had earlier conducted the previous year’s R-Day quiz, ClassAct 2022. Ahead of the long-awaited Prelims, we spoke to students who have already registered and these budding quizzers can’t hold on to their excitement. Here’s what they have to say.
Somnath Santra, grade 9 student of Mumbai’s Ryan International School said that he considers himself experienced as he has already been part of ClassAct 2022. Though he is enthusiastic, he is not overconfident. “From my last year’s experience, I now know how the entire quiz works. So, I am better prepared for it. Earlier, I only went through my GK books, but this time I have ready access to HT School’s quizzing community, Quizverse. The ‘This Day, That Year’ section of Quizverse is especially helpful,” shares the quizzer, brimming with enthusiasm.
Echoing a similar spirit, Rishi Soman Jana, studying in grade 5, in Nagle Vidhya Bhavan, Ernakulam, shares that he is very excited to have registered for yet another edition of ClassAct. Like Somnath, he was also part of ClassAct 2022, The Hindustan Times Republic Day Quiz. Rishi’s preparations for the Prelims round are in full swing now. “I have already gone through the entire Quizverse and attempted all the quizzes. Now, I am focussing on the new GK books my parents have bought me,” he says.
Ayush Tiwari, a grade 8 student of DAV Public School, Panna, is participating in the R-Day quiz for the first time and is eagerly looking forward to it. “This is going to be a great learning experience for me, I am sure,” he says.
Similarly, another debutant from the Ahlcon Public School, Delhi, Charvi Jain, seems to be all too geared up for this mega quizzing event. She shares, “I am very excited to be a part of ClassAct 2023. In fact, I have already shared its details with my friends too! I hope they participate too alongside me,” says the 9th grader. “For me, the driving factors are the fun of participation, learning new things and the anticipation of winning,” adds Charvi.
