According to most teachers, during online classes, camera should be kept on a mode of connection between the teacher and the student. Even though the classes might be virtual, this is how teachers derive inspiration to teach while students stay motivated to learn and keep a positive and constructive approach towards learning.
As a matter of fact, when cameras are off, teachers find it draining to teach a concept to a bunch of black boxes on screen. However, from a child's perspective, staring at the screen for long hours may be harmful as it may lead to screen fatigue, and parents often consider this a breach of privacy as they think that the educators are entering their private spaces, sometimes revealing economic disparities among students. Watch this video, where Dr. Rajesh Hassija, Director, Indraprastha Group of Schools; Ms. Nidhi Tiwari, Principal, Ride Valley School; Ms. Jyoti Arora, Mount Abu Public School, Rohini; and Ms. Rachna Pant, Director, Ramjas School, RK Puram share their insights on the issue.
