HT School, Hachette India and Quiz Foundation of India are here with a thriller—an Open Quiz at Chennai for quiz enthusiasts and quizzers alike! Join hands with your buddies and form a team of any three members to participate in the Smartacus Seniors Open Quiz 2022. This Open Quiz is suitable for ages 18 and above. But school students needn’t worry!

We encourage all students of Grades 5 to 12 to register for Smartacus 2022—The Hindustan Times National Interschool Quiz, which is scheduled for August 15, 2022.

Rules and Regulations

  • *Registrations may close before August 13, 2022 if we reach the maximum limit of 250 teams. All registrations received post the limit will be waitlisted. Spot registrations will get least priority.
  • The first 250 teams to register will be given confirmed slots; the remaining teams will be put on a first-come-first-serve-basis waitlist.
  • Each team must compulsorily comprise 3 members.
  • All participants should ideally be of age 18 and above.
  • While registering, teams must mandatorily confirm if they’re college students, and provide proof of the same at the venue to be considered a college team.
  • Only college teams will be eligible for the College Team awards; all members of a college team need NOT be from the same college.
  • The confirmed teams must be seated inside the auditorium by 2:15 PM on August 14, 2022.
  • Multiple registrations from the same email ID will NOT be accepted.
  • Teams can bring a replacement member if a registered member is unavailable.
  • Registration details of each team will be shared with the Quiz Foundation of India.
  • Keeping in mind COVID-19 protocols, it is mandatory for participants to wear masks at all times! NO MASK, NO ENTRY.

How many rounds will the Smartacus Seniors Open Quiz 2022 have?

The Smartacus Seniors Open Quiz 2022 will comprise 2 rounds—the Preliminary Round (Prelims) and the Finale. The top 8 teams from the Prelims will advance to the Finale.

How will our team know if we have successfully registered for the Quiz?

A confirmation email will be sent to the Team Captain along with the link to the Smartacus Seniors WhatsApp group. Please note that only the Team Captain will receive the confirmation email and the link to join the WhatsApp group. Only one member from a team will be permitted to join the WhatsApp group.

What happens if our team cannot make it to the auditorium on time?

If your team fails to make it to the auditorium by 2:15 PM, then your seats will be given to a waitlisted team based on the order of registration.

What prizes will be offered to the winning teams / participants?

Prizes worth ₹50,000 are up for grabs! The top 3 teams will be awarded cash prizes of ₹15,000, ₹9,000 and ₹6,000, respectively. The 5 other Finalists will receive cash prizes of ₹1,500 each.

There will also be prizes for the Best College Team, the Runner-Up College Team, and the Wackiest Team Name.

There are prizes galore for the audience members!
