Humpback whales use bumpy fins for propulsion, which results in lesser drag, and hence, higher efficiency. These days, certain wind turbines are designed on a similar principle! In 10 miles/hr, these turbines can generate the same amount of electricity that's generated by a normal turbine in 17 miles/hr. This is an example of biomimicry.
