It is critical to gain an understanding of the risks, threats and vulnerabilities on digital platforms and devices, as our personal and professional lives begin to revolve around online spaces, in the wake of the pandemic.

This Cyber Safety with Cyber Saathi© course is intended inter alia to help every student become better aware of cyber threats and vulnerabilities. It will help you understand the remedies in law and the procedure to avail of such remedies, in case you fall victim to cybercrimes. It will also help you keep abreast of increasingly sophisticated online attacks.

In this course, you will also learn about the various threats in cyberspace and how to deal with cyber offences, in case you fall victim. You will also be able to recognize when you could be making a mistake and, as a consequence, be a perpetrator or commit a crime. Each lesson will start with a set of questions that are in the form of real-life scenarios or cases. You will have to put yourself in the situation and attempt the questions till you get the answers right. You will have to approach these questions honestly, choosing what you would normally believe applies and then work your way to the correct answer. This approach will help you better understand the real threat that online spaces pose, stay safe online, avail of remedies and seek justice.

Nappinai, Supreme Court Advocate and founder of Cyber Saathi™, is a senior and renowned lawyer specializing in Constitutional, Criminal, IPR and Cyber Laws since 1991. Ms. Nappinai is the founder of “Cyber Saathi™,” an initiative that is intended to empower citizens through the knowledge of cyber laws, threats and vulnerabilities. She is Amicus Curiae before the Supreme Court in Prajwala v. Union of India, wherein the Supreme Court is exploring Artificial Intelligence-enabled solutions to root out uploading of heinous content against women and children online.
