This beginner’s, short-term, online live course will set you on your way to playing a Musical Guitar, be it the acoustic or the electric guitar. The course will provide a perfect balance between exploring the instrument, enhancing performance techniques and understanding the music theory to help you play your instrument in the earliest possible time frame. This Live Guitar Fundamentals course is specifically designed for students aged 7–18 who have a keen interest in music.

Course Objectives

The Guitar Fundamentals course will help you:

Tune the guitar
Identify notes across the guitar
Play and transition between all major/minor open chords
Play scales
Play 12 bar blues progressions
Understand strum patterns and essential rhythmic drum and percussive techniques played on the Guitar
Play and understand rhythms (Quarter Notes, Eighth Notes, Whole Notes, Half Notes and Sixteenth Notes)
Understand and play simple chords
Have a basic understanding of the music theory

Instructor

Shantanu Arora

Vocalist, Guitarist, Founder, Shan’s School of Music

Shantanu Arora is a professional singer and guitarist based out of New Delhi, India. He started playing the guitar at eight and gave his first stage performance when he was ten. He founded Shan’s School of Music in 2003 and provides training in different musical instruments, such as the keyboard, guitar, violin and flute, along with vocal training. Shantanu is a disciple of Ustad Sabri Khan in Hindustani Classical Music.
