Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav

75 Years Of Indian Independence

The debut episode of Creative Strokes, a portraiture workshop, was conduced on April 29, 2022 at the HT House, New Delhi. The theme of the workshop was Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: 75 Years of Indian Independence. Mohit Suneja, an award-winning illustrator with the Hindustan Times, enthralled the students with his sheer brilliance. 20 students of Grades 9 to 12 from 8 schools across Delhi–NCR attended the workshop. The students were taught to draw portraits of freedom fighters in an effort to pay tribute to their untiring efforts for a free India. They started off with reference images of freedom fighters, such as Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Subhas Chandra Bose, Mahatma Gandhi, and Mangal Pandey, to name a few. The workshop delved into the nuances of creating a portrait and also focused on realistic and human-like effects, using various mediums.
